Who operates this service

Sati8 Pty Ltd (ABN 31 635 245 224) trading as Deal Fairy. We compare electricity and gas plans for Australian households.

How we are paid

You do not pay Deal Fairy to compare plans. If you sign up to a partner retailer through the in-app switch path, that retailer may pay us a commission or other commercial fee.

Commission does not change the rates the retailer charges you. We do not rank plans by how much commission we earn. Estimated cost from your usage is the primary comparison measure.

What we compare — and what we do not

In-app comparison is intended to show generally available market offers using AER Energy Made Easy plan data and related market information, based on your address and bill usage.

We do not claim to show every deal in Australia. In particular:

• we do not compare every retailer or every plan a retailer offers
• some plans are only available by phone, on a retailer website, or to existing customers
• availability depends on your network, postcode, meter and eligibility
• in-app switching is only available for partner retailers
• concessions, some rebates, demand charges and some solar arrangements may not be fully reflected

A cheaper or better-suited plan may exist outside Deal Fairy.

How estimates are calculated

The app uses on-device OCR (optical character recognition) to extract usage and other details from the bills you upload. Estimated annual cost is based on that extracted usage and supply information, or on other details you confirm in the app. If bill data is incomplete we may use industry benchmark usage. Results are a guide, not a quote.

If a bill image or PDF is poor quality, OCR may not read your usage with 100% accuracy. That can flow through to the comparison and may overstate or understate estimated savings.

Uploading only one bill can also make the estimate less reliable. A single period does not capture seasonality or changes in how much energy you use across the year. For the most reliable comparison we recommend uploading four bills that cover a full year of usage.

Your actual cost depends on how much energy you use, the retailer’s current rates and fees, and any discounts or conditions that apply to you. Savings are not guaranteed.

Your contract is with the retailer

If you switch, you enter an energy retail contract with that retailer, not with Deal Fairy. Read the retailer’s Basic Plan Information Document and terms before you agree. Small customers generally have a 10-business-day cooling-off period. Cancelling during cooling-off is handled with the retailer.
